"Keep Calm, Carry On!"--Gods Behaving Badly

"Keep Calm and Carry On!" (Circa WWII)

What great motto to have on a wall of a writer's study!

While I missed the discussion yesterday, Dec. 1, on BlogTalk Radio with Marie Phillips--author of Gods Behaving Badly--I was able to listen to it today.

She answered my question about her writing space in great detail, since she was sitting in her study where she does most of her writing. Fabulous. She has about 100 books that she has not read in her study! An entire wall of books, now who doesn't have that dream? I guess I shouldn't feel bad about my TBR pile. She has piles of books all over the floor and she says maybe she should start building furniture out of books. Marie Phillips is so witty.

Check out what else she had to say about her book, here.

Thanks.

Hmm - my TBR pile is about 2 feet tall. Pretty good, for me, but obviously got some catching up to do.

Marvin: I am almost at Marie's level in books...is that bad?!

Gottawrite Girl: I love asking about writers' writing spaces...I love to see what helps them create.

I need to build another bookcase, and I certainly could use my TBR pile to do that! LOL

I just received this book and am looking forward to reading it! I'll have to check out that radio show.

I have enough books to make furniture as well...but I don't know that I would want to!

I just got this book the other day and I can't wait to give it a read. I have well over 100 books I haven't yet read and more keeping coming in.

Dar: I hear you on the books coming in. There are more and more daily. I loved this book.

Toni: I can't wait to see what you and Dar think about the book.

I am not going to tell you how many unread books I have but it's a lot - I mean, a lot!

We joke that our house in Dallas was kept standing because of those piles - the house has foundation problems. sigh.

Iliana: Wow maybe its a good thing that you have all those books!

How cool that she answered your question. I love hearing about author's writing spaces.

Lenore: Bermudaonion tipped me off that she answered my question, so I had to go and listen! LOL I really would have listened anyway, though I probably would have waited until I finished the book.

I recently found out ... me saying "You are so funny" may sound wrong.. when I mean "witty" but people out there.. think that's the wrong usage... you gave me the correct word to use!
actually, here we use "funny" a lot :(

i hope u understand what i m trying to say !

Serena said...

Shana and Veens: I agree, but my dream is walls and walls of books.

Veens: No worries, I always say you're too funny. I also mean witty on occasion.

I hadn't seen either of these covers before. I like the one on the right, and from what I understand about the book, it's a good reflection of the content.

I won this from Toni at A Circle of Books (and Hachette) ... can't wait to read it.

The one on the left is the cover I have. I think the one on the right is the U.K. cover.
