Thursday’s Thoughts: Which Fictional Character Would You Be?

If you could be any fictional character who would it be and why?

I've thought long and hard about this one, and are you ready for my unconventional answer? Ok, its really a character that everyone should have predicted by now. In spite of her prejudices and faults, I would love to be Elizabeth Bennet. Why? Because she has the love of her father, the kinship of her sisters, her family, and Charlotte.

She's also feisty, witty, and plain spoken. She doesn't give a darn about convention, and is willing to risk it all for love. That's who I would love to be. Independent, dependable, Lizzy!

Now, if I felt I had more leeway and I could be anyone or anything, I would have chosen differently.

How about this one?
I know I could have selected whomever I wanted, but the truth is I couldn't just pick one. I love Lestat from Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. He's another witty character who flies in the face of convention to get what he wants. I love the passion. The desire to get it all.

What about you? Which fictional character would you choose?

That's a tough one. Elizabeth Bennet immediately came to mind also. I also think I would like to be Dr. Marlowe Riddle from On the Couch by Alisa Kwitney because she is intelligent and yet very human and full of funny quirks. And I have been craving a little more competence in my life as of late! :)

Of course you'd want to be Elizabeth because then you'd have Mr. Darcy! LOL

Lestat! Nice choice!! (I thought Tom Cruise made an absolutely *amazing* Lestat. I was not pleased when I first heard of his being cast, but when I saw the film, I was stunned. I thought he was perfect!)

Anna: I think I'd want to be that lizzy in the photo!

Lezlie: I loved Tom Cruise in that movie...and I really don't like him much. I think he provided depth to the character, and after reading all of the books with him, I really like his character even more.

"Feisty, witty, and plain-spoken" ... sounds good to me! You had the advantage of thinking long and hard about this; I'm not yet ready to answer, but I did enjoy reading your response.

Novel Menagerie: Lizzy is Elizabeth Bennet's nickname in Pride & Prejudice. You must read this book.

Dawn: Thanks for popping over to check out my response. I usually don't have a response in time for the memes...lol

What a great question! Very difficult to find anyone much better than yours though! What more could you ask for!

I'm been sitting here for 5 minutes thinking and I'm just drawing a blank. I know this question will nag at me until I can come up with an answer! I'll be back when I do!

I have to admit, I've never read Anne Rice's vampire novels - in fact, Twilight was the first vampire book I'd ever read.

Lizzie was one of my choices, too. :)

Jenners: I had a easy time with this one. LOL

Carrie: The earlier novels in the series were fantastic.

I'm not good at these things! I have no clue who I would want to be. If I could only pick a character from a book I've read this year, I would easily choose Anne of Green Gables over Bella or Alaska or Miss Kenton!

On second thought... Alice of Gods Behaving Badly had some interesting adventures, huh?

Serena said...

Care: I think you have quite a list to choose from. :) Alice is a bit sedate for me.

True. And I hate to clean.

Interesting choices! I chose Sookie Stackhouse for mine :)

ladytink: I'm not familiar with that character, but I'd be eager to find out about him/her

I'm back! I finally figured out my answer --- Jo March from Little Women! I always loved this character and related to her. But I would recognize how awesome Laurie is and not let him get away!

By the way, I gave you an award here:
