Mailbox Monday #19

Welcome to another edition of Mailbox Monday, sponsored by Marcia at The Printed Page. Is everyone ready to see what came in my mailbox this week? It's been a good two weeks for books.

I snagged a bunch of poetry books from Graywolf Press:

1. After Confession by Karen Sontag and David Graham

2. Antebellum Dream Book by Elizabeth Alexander (the poet who read at the inauguration)

3. Barter by Monica Youn

4. The Art of Time in Memoir by Sven Birkerts (current editor at AGNI Magazine)

5. The Book of Faces by Joseph Campana

From Author Suzanne Kamata:

6. Losing Kei

7. Call Me Okaasan

Oh, Serena! I just loved Losing Kei and Suzanne is great! In my Book Giveaway Carnival, I named it as one of my top 4 in the last 12 months. The reason why I liked it was because it was just a really good story, a good read, and I didn't kill all of my brain cells reading it. Just an overall enjoyable book. So, I really liked it!

Sheri: I've heard a great deal about the book from you, anna, and many others. I was pleasantly surprised when I received it in my mailbox.

Oooooh Graywolf is a local publisher! I don't know much about them though!

Serena said...

Bermuda: I wasn't even expecting anything this week.

Alea: I love Graywolf. I learned about them in college from my poetry professor, who has one book published through them. They have some fantastic poetry.

You did well this week! I've heard good things about Losing Kei, but I didn't know she'd written another book too. Enjoy your books!

Avis: I think she and I were chatting about my cousin who adopted two girls from China on Good reads, and she sent me Call me Okaasan for that reason...and I guess she threw in Losing Kei! Wee!

Thanks for stopping by the mailbox!

Good haul Serena. I need to get my mailbox up. I should be doing that instead of visiting blogs. lol.

Dar: I have a hard time deciding whether to read blogs or do meme posts...lately the meme posts have won out.

Jenners: yeah the covers are striking...gotta love graywolf.
