I had a slow week until the National Book Festival happened! Yes, I lose all self-control. First, let's check out the books I received in my mailbox, and then I'll show you all the National Book Festival goodies.
1. Perfect Timing by Jill Mansell
2. Set Your Compass True by Signe Bergstrom
3. The Day the Falls Stood Still by Cathy Marie Buchanan (which I reviewed; this copy is for a giveaway)
4. The Company by K.J. Parker
5. Titanic's Last Secrets by Brad Matsen
Ok, now for the National Book Festival goodies:
6. The Pocket U.S. Constitution (I actually got this at the U.S. Capitol because I've always wanted one)
7. How to Read a Poem by Edward Hirsch
8. The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien
9. Going After Cacciato by Tim O'Brien
10. Say Uncle by Kay Ryan
11. Blood Dazzler by Patricia Smith
12. Poetry Out Loud Anthology
What did you get in your mailbox? What did you get at the National Book Festival, if you were there?
I may get other books since I am headed to the Baltimore Book Festival today. But those will be in the next mailbox.

Yup it is, great mailbox there
Wow! I would not want to have to pick which one I was going to read first! Hope you had a great time at National Book Festival!
Wow! Great week. I'm so glad you enjoyed the National Book Festival!
Wow! Great haul there, and happy reading!!!! I can't wait to hear what you think about the Jill Mansell book :)
Good pile of books! I hope you enjoy them. I hope to read The Day the Falls Stood Still sometime this week...
Sorry to miss you at dinner Saturday night. I loved The Things They Carried. My review is at http://oohbooks.blogspot.com/2009/07/review-things-they-carried-by-tim.html
I bet the National Book Festival was like walking into a treasure trove filled with books. :-) It looks like you selected quite a few good ones. I really want to read The Things They Carried. I had given my father a copy of that many years ago for his birthday and he loved it, but I still haven't read it.

National Book Festival was amazing! Too bad there was so much rain!!!
What a great week you had! I'm going to quiz you on the Constitution the next time I see you!
Wonderful mailbox. But then you read good books!

What a bounty! I have that Poetry Out Loud anthology and it's wonderful. There's nothing like hearing spoken poetry.
I'll be looking forward to your review of How to Read a Poem. That should be an interesting book.
Only a book blogger would call 5 books in the mail slow!
wow! hope you had a blast at all the book-festivities!
Great week! I'm jealous of the Tim O'Brien and Jill Mansell books.
