Thankfully Reading Weekend Wrap-up

Well, I didn't get as much reading done this weekend as I hoped.  Of course, that is all directly related to the holiday shopping hubby and I did for the apartment.  We spent his only day off over the holiday weekend putting together my new shelves.  Check out that post, here.

I finished The Girl on Legare Street by Karen White, click here for my review.  And started, again, At the Threshold of Alchemy by John Amen.  I should finish this book up today.

I escaped for most of Sunday into my books, much of the previous days was spent cooking, cleaning, and putting together bookshelves.  I'd probably guess about 9 hours total.

Did anyone else in your family take time to read?

Nope!  The hubby was working and even if he wasn't it would be more likely that he'd be in front of the television than with his nose in a book.

I wouldn't say that either of these books was a winner over the other since they are very different.  I've enjoyed them both.

That's my recap of the Thankfully Reading Weekend.   Did you participate? How many books did you read?

Vance and our nephew were here until yesterday afternoon and after they left, I did some housework and we ran an errand or two, so there was very little reading done around here.

I was supposed to participate, but house chores got in the way. So you did better than I did at least, AND got some bookshelves in the bargain!

I was surprised at how few hours I put into reading. I did unplug from the computer most of the time, but cooking, cleaning and being with my husband took up a lot of my time. And I'm grateful for spending time with him!

Bermudaonion: Yeah, I can imagine you would get very little reading done, but I think that's a good thing in this case.

Rhapsody: House chores and cooking and bookshelves took up much of my mini-vacation, which is fine because we had fun.

Beth: I unplugged for most of the long weekend as well, which is why google reader is out of control again! LOL

Even on busy weekends like Thanksgiving, we book lovers manage to squeeze in some quality reading time. Good for you Serena!

** I think your latest comments on my blog may have been lost in the change over? I pressed "publish" but now I don't see them. :( sorry... **

I totally missed out on that challenge since I wasn't online much before and during the week of Thanksgiving. I'm glad you got some reading time in, though. I read a lot during the beginning of my vacation, but the day before Thanksgiving through the rest of my vacation was mostly spent with holiday prep and digging out the Xmas decorations!

Anyway, you did great!

I didn't do as well as I had hoped either. I read two books and a half of a third.
