Book Lovers Recommendations

Today's my day over at Ramya's Bookshelf for her weekly spotlight on Book Lovers Recommendations.

I was honored to be asked, and I hope you like my selections. I did change a few after I noticed what Anna at Diary of an Eccentric recommended. Here's her recommendations in case you missed them.

We seem to think alike. I had originally selected Galway Bay by Mary Pat Kelly and Sea Glass by Antia Shreve as well, but I figured I had some other great selections too. I also liked her selection of The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.

But anyway, if you want to see what I selected, here are my recommendations.

***GIVEAWAY REMINDER***

I have 1 copy of Jill Mansell's An Offer You Can't Refuse; get two entries, comment on my review and my interview. Deadline is April 11 at Midnight.

Thanks for posting this Serena. Since I was out of town I totally missed Anna's recommendations! I'm going to head over and check them out...I think Sea Glass is probably one of my favorite Shreve books...it's a toss-up between Sea Glass and The Pilot's Wife.

Sea Glass is the only one on your list that I've read, and I really like that one. I'll have to take a look at the others. Shreve's last two books have disappointed me - can't tell if it's me or if her writting isn't as good.

Jo-Jo: glad to be of service.

Melanie: I'm sorry to hear that her last two books were disappointing to you. I like some more than others, and Sea Glass is one of my favorites.

Have you read The Weight of Water by Shreve? There are some interesting tie ins to both Sea Glass and The Last Time They Met (I can never remember the order they were published). Anyway, I really liked The Weight of Water. Need to get my hands on Gods Behaving Badly! Great list of books, Serena.

Seriously, you didn't have to chance your list on my account. But I love your choices.

Trish: I have not read The Weight of Water yet...its on my to-do list. I will have to check it out, though, now that you pointed out the connections.

Anna: I didn't want to bore readers by having the same books!

Interesting choice with Hamlet but you're right, it's got everything in it! I also read In The Lake of the Woods and remember enjoying it.

Just checked it out! Excellent choices. I left you a comment over there, but I have to tell you that I have the Lawrence Ferlinghetti book! I only have 3 books of poetry and that is one! I LOVE the one "I am waiting..." I think that is the title. One of my favorite poems of all time. Yes!

Serena said...

Jenners: I'm glad to hear that Ferlinghetti made that short list of poetry books in your possession.
