OK, here it is. Today's prompt was to write an outsider poem, whether its the narrator, an inanimate object, or someone else as the outsider. This is my rough draft:
Sisters
Cuddled on the recliner,
two halves of the coin--
Black on black
with white paws barely touching.
What’s it like
to be a feline sister.
Ready to curl up, bookends.
Strike and swipe claws in skin
at a pin drop.
Chunk of fur flies.
What did you write today?

Another good one! I like how you chose to approach this prompt. I think we're all in for a fun month of reading! Hope you can keep it up!
And are you familiar with the poetry genius that is J. Cosmo Newbery over at Notes On A Serviette? His blog is all poetry -- they are just so enjoyable. Here is the link if you don't know about him already:

I like this, too. We had two sisters, Patches and Parker. Parker died, and we all were depressed for some time afterwards. I worried not knowing what the loss was like for Patches.
My sister and I are close. We rarely fought. The fighting you watched as an outsider made me laugh.
I like it! The very end reminded me of some of the Cat Haiku I had stashed on my computer. :-)

I think you captured sisters so well! Great poem
Jenners: Thanks for the link; I had not heard of him...I will check out his blog.
Susan: I have one sister, though estranged from the family and I've never really known her...but my cats are sisters from the same litter and I just love watching how they relate to one another.
Lezlie: I'd love to see some of that cat haiku!
nbbaker: I'm glad you enjoyed the rough draft of this poem.
Serena ~ I'll email it to you. Some of them are hysterically funny!

Interesting that you chose the cats. Nice poem!

Diary of an Eccentric
I really didn't feel like delving into heavy subject matter last night...you know like the typical racism story and what not.
I like that Serena!

Naida: Thanks for the compliment.
