Mailbox Monday #75

Marcia at The Printed Page and Kristi of The Story Siren both sponsor memes in which bloggers share what books they've received in the past week.  I'm going to continue calling these Mailbox Mondays, but The Story Siren also has In My Mailbox.

Here's what I received:

1.  Claude & Camille by Stephanie Cowell, which I received for review.

2.  Matterhorn:  A Novel of the Vietnam War by Karl Marlantes, which I purchased from Maria's Bookshop, which donated $2 of each sale to a local chapter of Disabled American Veterans.

What did you get in your mailbox?

Both of these look like something I'd like to borrow when you're done. ;)

Claude and Camille is SOOOOO good! I hope you'll stop by the Historical Fiction Bloggers Round Table for our April event which highlights this awesome book! I have a feeling that this book is going to be big!

Have fun with your new additions!

My mailbox is here.

Both books have great covers and both sound interesting. I was trying so hard not to put too many titles on my wish list this week but I think these both have to go there! Enjoy!

I haven't heard of those books so I look forward to hearing what you think of them.

Thanks for stopping by to comment on my mailbox.

Thanks everyone. I am really looking forward to reading both of these...but Kathy is right, Matterhorn is a chunkster. Maybe to be digested in small chunks.

Amy, please email me a reminder about the roundtable.

Books on the Nightstand podcast highlighted Matterhorn recently - highly recommended. They also said it had been edited down to the chunkster size, lol.

I love the cover for Claude & Camille but I am a fan of his paintings so that shouldn't be a surprise.

I'm not a fan of Monet so I'm not sure of that one but Matterhorn looks good. I haven't read anything of the Vietnam War in eons.

I had a chance to get Matterhorn as an arc, but I had to let it go because of the length. When I was in the bookstore the other day, I kicked myself because it looks so good. Enjoy your books.
Serena...Thanks also for the copy of the Libby Cone book. I can't wait to read it. :)

I really want to read both of those! I read an interview with the author of Matterhorn and the story of how the novel came to be is really amazing. Enjoy! Here's my Mailbox.

Good ones Serena. I have Claude & Camille too. I wanted to download Matterhorn on my eReader but it's not available in Canada yet. Go figure. lol.
